Behind the Scenes of our Fall Photo Shoot
We just finished up our first photo shoot for Fells Point Surf Co with the very talented Brian Schneider Photography. Brian and I met in the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business Program earlier this year at Johns Hopkins University. One of the most valuable things that I gained from the program was the network of other small business owners that I met and the future partnerships I hope to have. At Fells Point Surf, we have been working towards building a new website and Brian was the perfect partner for us to get beautiful images to make our site amazing. We can't wait to see the final product. Ok, back to the photo shoot day...
We started early in the morning as to capture the sunrise when the lighting would be perfect for getting some outdoor shots. Luckily the weather cooperated and it was fairly warm allowing us to take both fall and spring clothing shots. This was our first time doing a shoot and while I thought we were organized I learned that there are many things that have to happen to keep the shoot moving quickly and on schedule. You need to have a shoot director, photography assistant, wardrobe manager and stylist. It definitely helped that we were never far from the shop to grab more outfits or accessories if we were missing something. We traveled with lots of bags and a rolling rack which made things a bit easier as well as had a general game plan of the type of shots we wanted and how we wanted them styled. Thank you Pinterest! We were lucky to have friends and customers of the shop volunteer to model for our first shoot making it a new and fun experience for many involved. Since we have shops both in the city and the beach we tried our best to represent both environments. Some shots were by the water at The Sandlot in Harbor Point, coffee break at Ceremony Coffee, street shots in Fells Point and around the marina, lunch shots at Barcocina, cuz who doesn't love Mexican Food, and then we finished up along the water at Hammerman Beach. I literally am so stoked to see these pictures and to launch the new site. While this was a super long day for everyone I know we got the perfect pictures for the store and can't wait to share them all with you!
